Adult Behavioral Health Home & Community Based Services

Adult Behavioral Health Home & Community Based Services

The Adult Behavioral Health Home and Community Based Services (BH HCBS) at Cayuga Counseling Services, Inc. have been developed to help individuals overcome the cognitive and functional effects of behavioral health disorders.  These services are designed to allow individuals to gain the motivation, functional skills and personal improvement to be fully integrated into the community.

The Behavioral Health Home and Community Based Services provides an opportunity for adult Medicaid beneficiaries with mental illness and/or substance use disorders to receive services in their own home or community.

The goal of these services is to create a supportive and empowering environment for people with behavioral health conditions to reach their full potential and live productive lives within their own community.

Home and Community Based Services offered through Cayuga Counseling Services include:

  • Psychosocial Rehabilitation (PSR):  PSR services are designed to assist the individual with compensating for or eliminating functional deficits and interpersonal and/or environmental barriers.
  • Community Psychiatric Support and Treatment (CPST): CPST services are designed to provide mobile treatment and rehabilitation services to individuals who have difficulty engaging in site-based programs.
  • Habilitation: Habilitation services are designed to assist individuals (through the use of community resources) in acquiring, retaining and improving the adaptive skills necessary to be successful in home and community based settings.
  • Family Support & Training (FST):  FST services are designed to provide the training and support necessary to facilitate engagement and active participation of the family in the treatment planning process.
  • Education Support Services (ESS):  ESS services are provided to assist individuals with behavioral health disorders who want to start or return to school or formal training with a goal to achieve skills necessary to obtain employment.
  • Pre-Vocational Services:  Pre-Vocational Services are designed to prepare an individual for paid or unpaid employment.  This service provides learning and work experiences so the individual can develop general strengths and skills that contribute to employability.
