Benefit Summary 35 + hours per week

Work Hours

It is the policy of Cayuga Counseling Service to establish working schedules based on business conditions and client requirements.  An employee’s specific work schedule will be determined by his or her Supervisor and/or Coordinator.  However, the established normal workweek for Full Time employees is between 35 – 40 hours. 

Paychecks

Employees are compensated 24 times a year on the 15th and 30th of each month.

Health Insurance

Employees are eligible to enroll in health insurance the first of the month following date of hire.  Open enrollment periods are held each November for a January 1 effective date.  Currently, the health insurance is provided through Excellus.  Employees may choose between the EPO K plan or the Health Blue High Deductible Plan (HDHP).

As indicated above the Excellus EPO K plan includes a pharmacy management program.  Complete summaries of the plans will be made available upon hire.

Employees who elect the HDHP must also open a Health Savings Account (HSA) with Empower Federal Credit Union.  For 2010 the Agency will fund $650.00 of the single deductible and $1,500.00 of the deductible for any other coverage level.  The aforementioned amount is deposited into the employees Health Savings Account.  The deposits (the total employer contribution divided by the 4 quarters of the year) are made on a quarterly basis. 

An employee who chooses to opt-out of the health insurance plan and provides proof of other coverage will be eligible to receive $750.00 for the plan year.  The amount is reflected as an increase of $31.25 per pay period.  If the opt-out occurs mid-year then the amount will be pro-rated. 

Dental Insurance

Employees are eligible to enroll in dental insurance the first of the month following their date of hire.  Open enrollment is held each June for a July 1 effective date.  The plan covers the services as follows:

There is a $50.00 deductible per person to a family maximum of $150.00.  The deductible is waived for preventative services.  Additional plan information will be provided upon hire.

Vision Insurance

The vision insurance is provided through EyeMed Vision Care.  Employees are eligible to enroll the first of the month following their date of hire.  Enrollees received the best level of coverage by using a EyeMed Network Doctor.  Enrollees may choose prescription glasses or contacts every 12 months.

Life Insurance

A company paid life insurance policy is provided.  Employees are eligible to enroll the first of the month following their date of hire.  The benefit for both the life insurance and accidental death and dismemberment is equal to $25,000.00

Long-term disability

A company paid Long-term disability plan is provided.  The long-term disability is equal to 60% of your salary after receiving 26 weeks of NYS short term disability. 

Flexible Spending Account (FSA)

The plan allows an employee to pay for unreimbursed medical/dental expenses and/or dependent care with pre-tax dollars.  Each plan year an employee specifies an amount to be contributed to the FSA.  This amount is divided and withheld over the 24 pay periods on a pre-tax basis.  Any monies unused at the end of the plan year will be forfeited.

403(b) – Tax Sheltered Annuity

Employees who work more than 20 hours per week and are 21 years of age are eligible to enroll in the 403(b) plan upon date of hire.  The plan is administered by First Niagara Bank.  Employees are eligible to receive a matching contribution after 1 year of service and 1000 hours worked.  The match is equal to 50% of what the employee contributes up to a maximum of 2%.  The employee is vested in the employer’s contribution after two years. 

Remitted Tuition

Occasionally the Agency earns remitted tuition credits from colleges in exchange for providing placements or internships to students.  These credits are made available to staff.   Employees must apply for and receive approval from the agency for use of the credits.  Typically, employees must be employed for one year to be eligible for the remitted tuition credits.

Vacation Time

It is the policy of Cayuga Counseling Services, Inc. to grant vacation based upon length of service for employees regularly scheduled to work over a twelve month period.  New employees are eligible to accrue one vacation day per full month worked, during their first calendar year hired (to a maximum of 10 days).  New employees may use the accrued time after successful completion of the three month Introductory Period, unless otherwise approved.

Personal Time

Cayuga Counseling Services, Inc provides 5 personal days for Full Time 12 month employees each calendar year. 

Sick Time

It is the policy of Cayuga Counseling Services, Inc. to provide a paid sick leave benefit in the event of a non-job related illness requiring time off.  In the year hired, new employees are eligible to accrue one day per full month worked, up to a maximum of 12 for a 12 month employee. Employees are eligible to take the paid sick time after completing the three month introductory period.
