Theft Deterrence Group
Program Description
Theft Deterrence was developed in response to the Auburn City Court’s express interest in adding another dimension in sentencing conditions for petit larceny and theft of services charges. The education group serves men and women age 16 and older. This program is structured as a on-time 90-minute educational group session designed to explore issues surrounding petit larceny, shoplifting, theft of services, and the harm caused by these crimes.
Referral/Discharge Process
Referrals are made to the program by Auburn City Court and some small town justice courts. The individual contacts the group facilitator for class date and time. Attendance must be made and completion is reported back to the courts.Â
Hours, Location, Fees
This is a one time group session and it is held once a month here at Cayuga Counseling Services, Inc. on 17 E. Genesee Street, Auburn. There is a $25 dollar fee for this program due the night of attendance. Admittance to the group will not be allowed without payment.
